Chapman University implements and uses Blue Cleaning program technologies for cleaning on campus. Blue Cleaning Program is an integrated approach to cleaning based on the use of Electrically Activated Water (EAW) in lieu of general purpose chemicals. Using multiple technologies, a low-level electrical charge is applied to tap water, transforming it into "electrically activated water" (EAW) a cleaning solution that breaks apart and lifts dirt from surfaces like a magnet.
Chapman University uses the Active Ion EAW technology with the Ionator and Tennant's ECH20 Floor Cleaning Machine.
